Windows will pick it up right away anyway, but you should always go online for the latest drivers for ANY product you put into or on your computer anyway. Overall Review: -Worth mentioning (well not really because it is so easy and intuitive) is the installation of drivers. Meaning you CAN still use this USB 2.0 device in a USB 3.0 slot and it will work perfectly fine. So not really a CON, BUT it IS reverse compatible. USB 3.0 users will not see much higher speeds than manufactured at, but this is CLEARLY stated in the title of the product (150Mb/s). In a home where there is multi stories, I do not see this product suffering from connections what-so-ever. I could walk down the street with the laptop and around the corner (behind a 7 foot cinderblock wall and still get 1-2 bars of wireless (fluctuating) at well over 250 feet or more. It doesn’t even get warm when torrenting large files as well as streaming movies from the internet. It acts like there is no other wireless connection even around. This device performs as should, never in a millisecond deciding where to connect. I live in an apartment complex where there are 20+ wireless connections on all the time. And this device also holds true to their performance as well as the price. The TP-Link devices I have used/tested in the past have ALL performed VERY well while keeping the price-point down to a minimum. In a laptop/notebook it barely sticks out so it is the perfect size to NOT get broke off or catch on other peripheral wires. It has a very small form-factor/footprint.

I am technically inclined, but I like to take the approach of a person reading reviews that doesn’t understand all the “geek speak” and make it understandable for the person who doesn’t have the time or patience to study up on stuff.
